Week 5:

In our groups we watched the film Donnie Darko, it was to show us about photography and directing photographs. the film uses different parts of photography and movie.

The film plays on emotions well and creates a scene that gives off different feelings.
When the song mad world is played, there are sad scenes that interlock each other, and it displays people all in different photographic ways.

The chapters in the film devide it up into more like a book. I think this is to show that life has chapters, and you never know what to expect or what is going to happen.

The lyrics and text to the song had a big part to the scene shot. mad world was the song by Gary Jules and Michael Andrews, which is a slower cover.

The film starts to be seperated as the grids appear over the shots, then grids amongst grids. The use of repetition of the skull and then death. There are drawings of a skul of a rabbit then the appearance of the skull in a mans room whilst he is crying, Donie draws the same skull through the film.

I feel that the images represent death in different ways, the skull and an eye are pictured in the film. There are also fireworks at the end, maybe to show the celebration of life.
